Apr 22, (THAINDIAN NEWS) Much acclaimed musical artist Annie Lennox created quite a stir lately when she appeared in a musical reality show adorning a T-Shirt that read ‘HIV Positive’. The message that the singer wished to convey by wearing the T-shirt left all her large number of fans highly alarmed as they got concerned whether Annie Lennox had actually contracted the virus herself. However, to the huge relief of all her fans, it later came to light that the singer is absolutely hail and hearty and by choosing to wear the T-shirt all she wanted to do was to make a humanitarian statement.

During the segment titled ‘Idol Gives Back’ in the hit musical reality series “American Idol”, the singer’s appearance wearing the T-shirt was something that generated widespread attention among all the viewers who had tuned in to watch the much awaited episode. In the show, not only did Annie Lennox highlight the message that she was an ardent supporter of HIV prevention, awareness and treatment, she also introduced a young girl who had been suffering from the deadly disease. The part of the show featuring the four year old girl who also lost her mother to the disease, turned out to be one of the most heartbreaking segments of the show with viewers left to think that the girl could have lived a very normal life if only her mother had been a bit more careful.

However, this is not the only time that Annie Lennox has highlighted the fact that she is an ardent advocate for the prevention and the treatment of the HIV Aids as she is known to have been associated with issue for quite some time now.
