June 24, (THAINDIAN NEWS) The jewelry that was gifted to actress Anne Hathaway by her former boyfriend Raffaello Follieri is all set to be auctioned by the federal authorities. The much acclaimed actress was compelled to surrender the ownership of a variety of jewelries that were given to her by her former flame after he was taken into custody for money laundering and fraud in the month of June, 2008.

According to reports that have surfaced, the items which were confiscated by the FBI would now be auctioned and although the “Devils Wears Prada” star was given the chance to bid on the items and regain its ownership once again, she chose not to do so. The items which would be going under the hammer include a gold Rolex watch, a silver Rolex submariner as well as a five-strand pearl choker.

The other jewelry items which would be auctioned also take into account assorted necklaces, bracelets, rings as well as chandelier earrings which are made of a number of expensive stones. All these pieces of jewelry which were gifted to the actress by her former conman boyfriend were taken away from her by the FBI as evidences in the case against Raffaello Follieri, with whom the 27 year old actress shared a four year long relationship.

Anne Hathaway’s 31 year old former lover pleaded guilty to the charges on October 2008, following which he was given a sentence of four and a half years. After a $2,44,000 judgment was pinned against Raffaello Follieri, the federal authorities has been seeking the right to sell the items that were confiscated from the actress.
