June 24, 2010 (Pen Men at Work): Hollywood beauty Anne Hathway’s broke up with her then boyfriend Italian real estate developer Raffaello Follieri in 2008 which was followed by the arrest of Follieri on charges of fraud.

Anne handed over all the luxurious gifts given to her by Follieri, to the US government in August 2008 as she realized that they had been a result of cheating.

The U.S. attorney for the Southern District demanded that all personal items including the Rolex watches, opulent necklaces and bejeweled rings from her ex-boyfriend should be permanently surrendered to the United States government.

Follieri was charged for allegedly cheating investors and earning millions of dollars. Follieri is now facing a sentence of four-and-a-half years in prison from October 2008.

All Anne’s expensive jewelry and gift items would be sold to the highest bidder.

It was reported that in the papers that the government had cataloged the items online for 30 days beginning Dec. 12. She was allowed the right to appeal but Hathaway declined.

The robbed items include 13 luxury watches, a Tiffany clock seized from Follieri’s Trump Tower apartment, a Cartier figurine and a Bronx storage unit.

As per TheSmokingGun.com, the jewelries of Hathaway include a silver Rolex submariner, a gold Rolex Cosmograph Daytona watch, bracelets, rings, a five-strand pearl choker, necklaces and opulent chandelier earrings which drips with diamonds as well as other precious stones.

The actress has bad luck in relations as her new boyfriend Adam Shulman was also accused of theft just a month back.
