Anne Hathaway Los Angeles, Mar 16 (THAINDIAN NEWS) Anne Hathaway has added her voice to the list of growing numbers of celebrities calling on the US President to support gay marriages in the country.

Hathaway was part of a group of celebrities who signed an open letter to the president on Monday urging him to support gay marriages. Other notable signatories to the letter were Ellen DeGeneres and Jane Lynch.

The letter is part of the campaign by a group called Freedom to Marry. Part of the letter sent to the president which was titled “Say, ‘I do’, Mr. President” read, “In February, you made a powerful statement about the law. We ask you now for your leadership on ending the exclusion of same-sex couples from marriage — an exclusion that harms millions of Americans each day. Whether to end discrimination in marriage is a question America has faced before, and faces again today.”

President Obama has in the past lent his support to gay couples. However in a recent public comment, the president seemed to have changed sides a bit when he said that his views on gay is ‘evolving’.

Barack Obama is undoubtedly a favorite of many celebrities.
