Jan 20, (THAINDIAN NEWS) After months of search and speculations, finally ace director Christopher Nolan managed to bag two of the important characters of his upcoming movie “The Dark Knight Rises”. The director was looking for an actress who would be cast against the Superhero of Gotham City. However, in the end, gorgeous actress Anne Hathaway has bagged the coveted role of Catwoman in the movie. Keira Knightley, Kate Mara and Charlotte Riley were said to have been in the running for the role.

Anne Hathaway will play the role of Selina Kyle, Warner Brothers officially announced the news on Wednesday. At a later press release, Warner Brothers’ officials stated that Anne Hathaway will also play then role of Selina Kyle’s alter ego, Catwoman. Director of the movie, Christopher Nolan told a reputed media source that he is thrilled to get an opportunity to work with Anne Hathaway. The highly acclaimed director said that Anne Hathaway would be a “fantastic” addition to the “Batman” family and would play an important role in the movie as they complete their story. Catwoman shares a typical love-hate relationship with Batman and it would be interesting to watch how the director portrays it in the movie. On the other hand, handsome actor Tom Hardy has nabbed the role of infamous Bane in the movie.

The filmmaker, who worked with Tom Hardy in his critically acclaimed movie “Inception”, said that he is delighted to work with the actor once again in his upcoming project. Christopher Nolan also added that he is excited to watch Tom Hardy bring life to the story of “The Dark Knight Rises”. In the comic series, Bane is one of Batman’s powerful foes and the fans of the movie are waiting to watch the confrontation of Bane and Batman in the movie.
