California, Nov 1 (THAINDIAN NEWS) A Californian judge has ordered Anna Nicole’s ex Howard K Stern to stand for trial along with the two doctors too who played a part in her death due to accidental drug overdose.

Former Playboy model and actress Anna Nicole Smith, died from a prescription drug overdose in February 2007. She was only 39 years old. She was found dead in her room at the Seminole Hard Rock Hotel & Casino near Hollywood, in Florida. A post-mortem found that she had died of an accidental overdose of prescription drugs, which included anti-depressants too.

Her longtime boyfriend, Howard K. Stern, played an integral part in her death and he is charged on 11 felony counts, which includes dispensing a controlled substance to an addict and obtaining a prescription for opiates by deceit.

Pain management expert Dr James Gagne told the preliminary hearing that, ‘Dr Kapoor had prescribed multiple opiates to Smith which included an addictive drug called “hospital heroin”’, Dr Gagne said.

Dr Gagne reviewed Dr Kapoor’s records and found that Anna was given the drug Dilaudid for several months in 2004 after she broke her ribs.
