Anna Nicole Smith’s former boyfriend Howard K. Stern and other two doctors Sandeep Kapoor and Kristine Eroshivoch, who is actually a psychiatrist, have been indicted with a conspiracy to provide drugs to the former reality TV star and Playboy playmate, prior to her death resulting from an overdose in the year 2007.
According to Attorney General Edmund G. Brown, the charges on the three defendants claim that they “conspired to provide controlled substances” to Anna Nicole Smith between the period of June 2004 and January 2007, as well as “prescribing, administering, or dispensing a controlled substance to an addict.”
Smith, who was 39 years of age at the time of her death due accidental overdose, was found unconscious inside her hotel at the Seminole Hard Rock Hotel & Casino near Hollywood in Florida was pronounced death on the 8th of February 2007.
Later tests confirmed that the Smith had died of an overdose of prescribed drugs. Several medical prescriptions made out in the name of both Smith and her boyfriend Howard were found in the room, at the time of her death.
The prosecutors stated that, Smith’s former boyfriend Howard K. Stern who is an attorney and the two doctors were charged with three felony counts of conspiracy on Thursday at the Los Angeles Superior Court.
Sandi Gibbons a spokeswoman for the Los Angeles County District Attorney told the Associated Press that the three convicts, the former boyfriend and the two doctors were charged with other felonies that included the obtaining of fraudulent medical prescriptions and for illegal prescribing of controlled medical substances between the June 5, 2004 and Jan 26, 2007, just a fortnight prior to Smith’s accidental death.
Howard K. Stern is currently under the custody of L.A. authorities.
