‘Anna Nicole’ Opera Would Premiere Next Year

annaLondon, March 11, (THAINDIAN NEWS) From a Stripper to a famous playboy model and actress, the late Anna Nicole Smith lived a life of activity and after her sudden death due to a prescription drug overdose, her life will be portrayed by the Royal Opera House. The announcement was made recently and the date for the world premiere of the show is set to be February 17, 2011. It would be held at the Covent Garden venue of the Royal Opera house.

According to reports, the Dutch singer Eva-Maria Westbroek will be playing the role of the late model Anna Nicole Smith. The opera has been co-written by some of the most well known composers and writers in the opera business. The famous composer Mark-Anthony Turnage has written the opera along with co-writer Richard Thomas. The opera has been named “Anna Nicole” by the writers. Richard Thomas has previously delivered a hit opera named “Jerry Springer”. The “Jerry Springer” opera has however been part of controversies and has received mixed reaction from viewers.

The Royal Opera House is hopeful of the success of the show and has reportedly proclaimed that the “Anna Nicole” opera would be a major event in the UK Art circle. They are hopeful that the show will be well received by the audience. The Royal Opera House has also scheduled for this year’s November show of an opera on the French actress Adriana Lecouvreur. The Royal Opera House will also play host in September, to the UK premiere of “In The Penal Colony” which is based on the short story written by Franz Kafka and is adopted by Philip Glass.
