Boston, Oct 10 (THAINDIAN NEWS) Former Miss Iceland Anna Bjornsdottir was the person who tipped the FBI for the arrest of James “Whitey” Bulger, Boston Globe has reported. US officials placed $2 million bounty on the head of Bulger and he became the Number 1 on the most wanted list of the FBI.

In an interview with CBS News, Boston Globe reporter Maria Cramer said that, “Probably a lot of people assumed that there would be some ‘you’ll never take me alive moment,’ and instead, it was Miss Iceland 1974. By all accounts, he had become a retiree in spite of the fact that he had guns and money in his walls. He was living this really ordinary life.”

Bulger has been handed 19 counts of homicide and he is currently in the custody of US forces. Bulger was initially the most wanted man by the FBI but after the devastating attacks in the United States on 9/11, Osama bin Laden took over that position.

However when bin Laden was killed in May, the attention got back to Bulger. Though concerns have been raised about the mental state of Bulger, the officials have not indicated their willingness to halt his processing for court.

Some analysts believe Bulger is having Alzheimer’s disease.
