Dec 3, (THAINDIAN NEWS) Ann Ward, the winner of cycle 15 of ‘America’s Next Top Model’ has stirred up the old controversy about designers wanting models who work as coat hangers. While the brouhaha has been around the fleshier and more curvy models in recent years, Ann Ward’s win has taken the fashion industry experts by storm.

Tyra Banks, the former Victoria’s Secret bombshell who is known for her ample curves, said that she was thrilled with the new winner of ‘America’s Next Top Model’. She explained that the show kept its commitment of embracing beauty in all shapes and sizes. She said that the purpose of the show was to expand the definition of beautiful which could be skinny to curvy and everything in between. Reports indicate that the waist size of Ann Ward is small enough for a man to fit his hands around it. The feat was also achieved on the show in one of the earlier episodes.

Ann Ward’s back-story and her underdog status during the course of the season made her win even more special. The emotional 6′2″ model said, after being announced the winner, that she thought of all the people who made fun of her for the shape of her body. Chelsey Hersley who was a more experienced model and sizzled in the catwalk rounds, was announced the runner up. As the winner was announced, Chelsey Hersley was seen standing still and not giving away her disappointment directly. She was seen to be expressionless when Ann Ward went ahead and gave her a hug. Ann Ward will now have the dream contract with IMG and also become the face of Vogue. She will also receive a $100,000 contract from cosmetic giant Cover Girl.
