Aniston’s Comedy And Gnome Cartoon Among Miramax Sales

August 2, 2010 (Sampurn Wire): Jennifer Aniston’s comedy flick and the hilarious cartoon “Gnomeo and Juliet’ that is produced by Elton John are amongst some of the “items’ that are being sold. There are three other finished movies that also wait to be bought.
This was announced on late Thursday. The Miramax name as well as the film library are sold for a total of $660 million to a group led by building executive Ronald Tutor and the investment firm called Colony Capital.
The buyers of Miramax production house and the film library also include Jerome Swartz, the engineer who invented the laser scanner that can affirm the bar coding for products. Reportedly, Swartz was the man who had founded, ran, and sold Symbol Technologies. He presently is teaching in a college as a professor and is also a philanthropist.
According to the buzz, he is supposedly putting in a total of $50 million, while Tutor and Colony Capital’s Tom Barrack each will put in $100 million in equity.
That thus leaves about $300 million. The rest has to be raised in debts.
