Anil Kapoor thrilled about BAFTA
February 8th, 2012 - 6:46 pm ICT by IANS New Delhi, Feb 8 (IANS) Bollywood actor Anil Kapoor, who is set for his third outing at the prestigious BAFTA ceremony, says he is extremely delighted to be part of the gala event.
“I am extremely thrilled and delighted to be presenting at the BAFTA this year. It’s an absolute honour to be associated with the BAFTAs and to be returning to the award ceremony for a third time. It is definitely going to be a memorable night among tremendous talent and I am truly looking forward to it,” the 52-year-old said in a statement.
He is the only Indian actor who has been chosen to present the trophies at the BAFTA (British Academy of Film and Television Arts). The last time he did so was in 2010, when he gave away the award for the best costume design along with actor Claire Danes.
Anil’s first stint at the function was in 2009 for the multiple award-winning Danny Boyle film “Slumdog Millionaire”.
Last seen in the Tom Cruise-starrer “Mission: Impossible - Ghost Protocol”, the actor will attend the glittering ceremony Feb 12 at the Royal Opera House.
The show will be aired early morning Feb 13 on PIX channel.
“It an honour to have the exclusive rights of telecast this year as well … This year we are also excited to have our very own Anil Kapoor present at BAFTA awards and I wish him all the very best,” said Sunder Aaron, Business Head, PIX.
