Angie Varona talks about the ordeal of becoming a sex symbol at 14
November 15th, 2011 - 12:14 am ICT by Aishwarya BhattLos Angeles, Nov 14 (THAINDIAN NEWS) Angie Varona was all tears as she recalled the ordeal that she went through when she was 14 years old. Speaking on ABC News, Varona revealed that her pictures were hacked and leaked online.
She spoke about the dangers that she faced when she was labeled a sex symbol then. She revealed that she had to change her school twice to get away from the constant bullying that she faced from her peers.
The leaked pictures showed Varona wearing lingerie and bikinis. She said the photos were uploaded to her account on the Internet image sharing website Photobucket. She intended to send the pictures to her boyfriend but was shocked to find the pictures hacked and circulating on the Internet.
Now 18 years, Varona says the pain from the experience is still fresh in her mind. She said that, “People were] telling me that I deserve everything that’s going to come for me, that they’re going to rape me when they see me because I want it and because I ask for it.”
When the pictures were leaked, Angie Varona became the most Googled teenage name.
Varona said she now regret sharing the photos online and she dreads ever posting her images on the Internet again.
