Angelina Jolie going to visit Haiti

Angelina Jolie Geneva, Feb 9 (THAINDIAN NEWS) The UN goodwill ambassador Angelina Jolie is all set to visit the earthquake-ravaged Haiti. This was announced by the UN Refugee Agency. UNHCR spokesman Andrej Mahecic said that, Angelina Jolie would travel to Haiti on Tuesday. Besides this information, he provided no other details about her schedule for security reasons.

Hollywood actress Angelina Jolie also visited the hospitalized Haiti survivors in Dominican Republic on Monday. Angelina Jolie is a goodwill ambassador with the UN High Commissioner for Refugees and UNICEF. She visited the children who got injured in the Haitian earthquake. She took a tour of the pediatric wing of Dario Contreras Hospital in Santa Domingo with the director Hector Quezada, and Gonzalo Vargas Llosa, who is the son of popular Peruvian writer, Mario Vargas Llosa. She also paid a visit to the President of the Dominican Republic, Leonel Fernandez at the presidential National Palace.

Besides Angelina Jolie, other stars of Hollywood had also helped in the collection drive for the Haiti victims. The noble endeavor by the stars for the Haiti Telethon was a massive success, and a huge sum of money was raised for the earthquake survivors. There was a special edition of the show for Canada too, which was titled ‘Canada for Haiti’s’ and it also managed to raise over $9 million.
