Mogadishu, Oct 10 (THAINDIAN NEWS) Star couple Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt have donated to a cause to help feed children in Somalia. The couple reportedly donated $340,000 to help give food to the millions of Somali children affected by the famine that has affected the Horn of Africa.

The United Nations say millions of people located at the Horn of Africa faces the real possibility of starvation because of the drought that has struck the region. The world body has subsequently asked the world to help feed the people in the area to help save the millions who may be affected by the famine caused by the drought. In Somalia alone, it is estimated that 750,000 people are at risk of starving to death. Already 29,000 children are estimated to have died because of the famine.

The couple gave the money to Humanitarian Initiative Just Relief Aid through their own Jolie-Pitt Foundation. Jolie has a special inspiration from the people of Somalia.

During a previous interview, Jolie said that, “I’m so grateful - I don’t want to cry - to the refugee families that I have the honor and privilege to spend the last years with. From them I’ve learned so much. I’ve learned to be a better person, a better mother. They’ve inspired me by showing me the unbreakable strength of the human spirit.”

Jolie and Pitt are parents to six children, most of who are adopted from Africa.
