Andy Samberg plays host to the 2009 MTV Movie AwardsJune 1st, 2009 - 7:45 pm ICT by GD
Andy Samberg, the king of the “Saturday Night Live,” played host to the “2009 MTV Movie Awards“. Samberg brought with himself some of the magic that he has always been famous for. He kicked off the night with a comic mash-up of some of the best scenes of the year, including those from “Slumdog Millionaire” and “Twilight”.
He started off the show with a hilarious ode to one of the most memorable and nerve-tingling scenes of the year (from Slumdog Millionaire): young Jamal taking the chance of going through the big puddle of shit, to see his favorite superstar and succeeding in it.
Playing host to a live award ceremony for the very first time, Samberg indeed did an exceptionally good job. All along the ceremony he was in his element, cracking hilarious jokes and playing the fool at the right moments. As many had anticipated, Samberg did bring some part of his infamous and hilarious songs from his “Saturday Night Live” digital shorts.
Andy Samberg was born as David Andrew Samberg on 17th August, 1978 in Mill Valley, California. His mother Magi Marrow was an elementary school teacher and his father Joe Samberg was a photographer. In the year 1996, he completed his graduation from Berkeley High School and began his college studies at the University of California before transferring to New York University to pursue his study in films at the Tisch School of Arts from where he graduated with a B.F.A. in the year 2000.
