Andrew Garfield All Set To Play “Spider-Man”

sperLos Angeles, July 2, (THAINDIAN NEWS) British actor Andrew Garfield has landed the role of the web-slinging superhero “Spider-Man” in the next film version of the popular franchise. The news that the 26 year old actor being cast in Sony’s “Spider-Man” re-boot has been confirmed by the studio on Thursday. The filming for the fourth flick in the superhero franchise in which Andrew Garfield would edge the character of Peter Parker, is scheduled to commence in the month of December while it is all set to hit theaters in July 2012, according to the makers of the hit superhero series.

Andrew Garfield would not be the only new member joining the upcoming franchisee of the flick as the next installment of the superhero series is going to be directed by Marc Webb of the “(500) Days of Summer” fame. It has been reported that Marc Webb took over the directing responsibilities of the movie after Sam Raimi refused to be associated with the fourth flick supposedly due to creative and scheduling differences with the producers. At the same time, Tobey Maguire who played the role of the superhero with much elan in all the previous three versions of “Spider-Man” reportedly also declined to be part of the upcoming installment of the flick.

26 year old British actor Andrew Garfield is known to have worked in films, television as well as radio after starting his career as a stage actor. In the year 2007, he made a mark with his role in the flicks “Lions for Lambs” and “Boy A,” which was followed in 2009 by the Terry Gilliam directed flick “The Imagination of Doctor Parnassus.”
