Andrea Bocelli Performs With Mary J. Blige In 52nd Grammy Awards

andreaLos Angeles, Feb 1, (THAINDIAN NEWS) The 52nd annual Grammy Awards was aired on Sunday on CBS and it was an amazing treat for the viewers. Not only because it presented awards of different categories and featured some wonderful performances, but also because it was instrumental in spreading social awareness and attempted to help Haiti recover from the devastation caused by the earthquake. Andrea Bocelli and Mary J. Blige, the Grammy-winning performers together attempted to raise money for the relief of Haiti. To mark the 40th Anniversary of Simon and Garfunkel, they performed “Bridge Over Troubled Water” at Staples Center in Los Angeles.

Their version of the song is available for both audio and video download at iTunes.com. It will raise money and contribute to the American Red Cross’ efforts of providing relief to the earthquake affected Haiti. Before the award show Mary J. Blige had said that it is going to be a great experience since Andrea Bocelli is going to join her while singing “Bridge Over Troubled Water.” No one could deny that the coming together of the two such immensely talented people would create magic. Mary J. Blige further said that it was good that she and Andrea Bocelli were working as a team trying to help Haiti overcome the disasters.

Andrea Bocelli looked too involved while he sang and the pictures of the Haitians were displayed at the background along with Haiti flags. It was truly a great attempt at helping Haiti. Apart from the duet performance, the evening was colorful with performances of Beyonce, The Black Eyed Pes, Lady Gaga, Taylor Swift and many more.
