Sep 19, (THAINDIAN NEWS) The Italian tenor, multi-instrumentalist and classical crossover artist Andrea Bocelli has reportedly turned down Jessica Simpson’s offer to sing a duet in her upcoming Christmas album. The Christmas album is due for release in November this year. The representative of Andrea Bocelli has reportedly released a statement where it was maintained that the “Time To Say Goodbye” was approached by Jessica Simpson’s management but the singer’s current recording and performing schedule does not allow him to “add” on to any new engagements.
The representatives of Andrea Bocelli also added in the statement that they have informed Jessica Simpson’s management that the duet cannot happen. However, the statement also read that the singer and his representatives wish her “great” success with their Christmas album. A reputed media source reported that Willie Nelson has lend his voice in Jessica Simpson’s new album. The singing sensation is presently working with producers The-Dream and Tricky Stewart for both her upcoming albums. The “I Wanna Love You Singer” will also duet with a U. S. soldier in Afghanistan. The duo will sing “I’ll Be Home For Christmas” in the upcoming album.
On the other hand, Andrea Bocelli has his hands full of activities these days. The singer is all set to launch a national tour of “My Christmas” with a performance at Madison Square Garden on December 2, 2010. Apart from the big event the singer will also perform in Metropolitan Opera. It is going to a six-city tour and he will be accompanied by conductor Eugene Kohn for the concerts, as well as soprano Alexia Voulgaridou and Tony Award winner Heather Headley. The tickets are already available on web as well as counters. The organizers report that if the aficionados buy any tickets, then they will also be provided with a free copy of either “The Best of Andrea Bocelli — Vivere” or “My Christmas.”
