Los Angeles, Jan 10 (THAINDIAN NEWS) The Hollywood Foreign Press Association has named actress Andie MacDowell’s daughter, Rainey Qualley, has been named Miss Golden Globe 2012. For the honor, Rainey will have to get to work because she will help host the Golden Globes for this year. Some of the people who have been given the honor in the past are Melanie Griffith, Rumer Willis, Joely Fisher and Laura Dern.

The Golden Globe is one of the major awards in a year. British comedian Ricky Gervais is going to host the event again following the controversy which surrounded the last event that he hosted.

Gervais has promised that he will not change his style. To drum home that fact, the comedian posted a picture on his Twitter page with the words “Some last minute preparation I took so I don’t look out of place at the Golden Globes.”

One of his highly controversial moments at last year’s event was during the introduction of Robert Downey Jr. Gervais told the auditorium that, “Many of you in this room probably know him best from such facilities as the Betty Ford Clinic and Los Angeles County jail.”

Despite coming under so much pressure after the show, the organizers felt the need to give him another chance.

The Golden Globe Awards will be held this weekend (the 15th of January).
