Sep 1 (IBNS) Celebrity fashion designer Anand Jon Alexander has been sentenced to 59 years to life in prison after he was found guilty of sexually assaulting seven girls and young women.

According to prosecutors, he enticed the victims with the promise of modeling jobs.

Alexander, acting as his own attorney, presented a lengthy argument Monday saying he should get a new trial because of juror and prosecutorial misconduct, and inadequate defense by his former attorneys. A judge denied his motion.

Alexander (35) stared ahead blankly as Judge David Wesley handed down the hefty sentence and his victims wept in the jury box.

He showed no reaction as Superior Court Judge David Wesley said Alexander should be incarcerated as long as possible for preying upon young girls and women. Alexander was convicted in November of 14 counts including forcible rape.

The designer, who appeared on the reality television show “America’s Next Top Model,” was convicted of 16 charges including rape and sexual assault in November.

Wesley sentenced him to the maximum sentence for all but two of those counts, saying he showed no remorse for his actions and posed a danger to other young women.

Alexander also faces charges in New York and Texas, where he has been indicted.
