Los Angeles, Mar 20 (THAINDIAN NEWS) An arrest has being made in the death investigation of actor Corey Haim. California’s attorney general’s office said that there was an illegal prescription drug ring, and it is being suspected that the late actor Corey Haim used to procure drugs and pills from this ring. Details about the arrest haven’t been made available to the media, but the officials of the Attorney General Jerry Brown did say that the pharmacy records reveal that Corey used to procure thousands of dangerous pills from numerous doctors.

The Los Angeles County Deputy Coroner Ed Winter said that the actor had pneumonia, an enlarged heart and also water in his lungs when he died on the 10th of March. He also added that the death could have been due to a drug overdose, and it can only be confirmed when the toxicology reports come in. The investigators are perplexed as to how Haim managed to procure so many drugs, from numerous doctors as well. “How many people go to 10 or 15 or 20 doctors and then run around to 10, 12 and more pharmacies to go fulfill them and sometimes two different doctors in the same day?” Brown asked. “If you go back to 2009, you’re talking thousands of pills,” he said. “You’re talking many, many doctors. I doubt if they know about each other. You’re talking about many, many pharmacies.” Hence there is mounting speculation that he died due to a drug overdose, but till the toxicology reports come in, it can’t be said for sure. His death certificate was also issued, and the cause of death in the certificate was marked as ‘deferred’.
