London, Jan 14 (ANI): She might be famous for all the wrong reasons, but Amy Winehouses popularity has made Universal pictures offer her a role in their upcoming flick, it has emerged.

Universal Pictures bosses have reportedly offered the Back To Black hitmaker a role of music teacher in a problematic school who later adds meaning to the lives of students.

The flick is based on the lines of popular flick Dangerous Minds, where Michelle Pfeiffer played the lead.

The movie is a bit like Michelle Pfeiffers film Dangerous Minds. Playing a music teacher will allow Amy to use her singing skills, The Sun quoted a source, as saying.

Jonathan Rhys Meyers is being considered for the role of male lead in the flick, the source said.

The flick bosses are even ready to arrange a coach to help Winehouse portray the character properly.

Jonathan Rhys Meyers is being talked about as her co-star, the source said.

She has been offered an acting coach called Matt Ryan from the Royal Academy of Music Theatre Department in London, the source added.

However, the bosses have demanded Winehouse to clear up her act, and keep up her drug rehabilitation.

But she needs to improve her health and state of mind, or the opportunity will be withdrawn, the source said.

You cant have a teacher looking like a scrawny crack addict. Its hoped the offer will be an incentive for her, the source added. (ANI)
