September 12, 2010 (Pen Men at Work): latest reports suggest that famous British singer Amy Winehouse is going to contribute a track for the Quincy Jones tribute album. The popular U.K. singer will pay her tribute to Quincy Jones by remaking “It’s My Party”, the 1963 Lesley Gore hit. For this song Amy is going to hook up with the famous British music producer Mark Ronson. Mark Ronson is the well known music producer who crafted the infectious old school track “Back to Black” for Amy’s sophomore release.
The song “It’s My Party” was produced by Quincy Jones and so it holds a special spot in the tribute album. Speaking about the album Rosnon said, “Amy and I are both incredibly honored and excited to be recording this song for Quincy. The regard she holds him in is second to none.” Ronson added, “We’ve gone back and forth on this track, fixing and improving it until we were satisfied it was good enough for Quincy.”
Quincy Jones seemed excited about the contribution of Winehouse and Ronson in ‘Q: Soul Bossa Nastra’, which is going to be released worldwide on November 9, 2010. Quincy said, “I am thrilled that she and Mark wanted to be a part of this album and I absolutely love what they did to make the song their own.” Recently Amy Winehouse has been involved in a number of drug and alcohol abuse cases and this track might be her only way back into the hearts of the audience. Winehouse is also working on her solo album at this time.
