Amy Locane Charged With Vehicular Homicide

anyJune 29, (THAINDIAN NEWS) The former “Melrose Place” actress Amy Locane was charged with second degree vehicular homicide and DUI on Monday after a supposed drunk driving crash on Sunday night, June 27, 2010. Amy Locane, 38, was driving a Chevy Tahoe in Montgomery, New Jersey, around 9 p. m. at Sunday night and she accidentally struck the passenger side of Mercury Milan as it was turning into a driveway. She is in police custody now.

The female passenger Helene Seeman was pronounced dead right at that moment and her husband Fred Seeman was taken to New Brunswick’s Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital, he is said to be in a critical condition. The Montgomery Township Police Department said that Amy Locane has confessed that she had several glasses of wine and just few moments before the accident, she had a minor hit and run accident, the authorities said that before the fatal crash she was seen knocking over mailboxes as she was unable to control the gear. The Police conducted her blood alcohol testing at Princeton Hospital and the report was positive. The reports also say that Amy Locane was also charged with a third degree assault by auto for rear ending a different car before the crash. If convicted Amy Locane -Bouvenizer will face 5 to 10 years of prison.

Amy Locane, before the car crash was at Hopewell Off-Broadway Theater celebrating the wrap of her role in “Missed Connections”. It is sheer bad luck for the actress to get into this legal entanglement due to her drunken driving. The “Cry-Baby” actor is charged with $50,000 cash bail by the Somerset Country Bail. The prosecutors however did not say if Amy Locane has hired a lawyer.
