Amy Adams And Christian Bale Receive Praises For “The Fighter”

amyDec 13, (THAINDIAN NEWS) Much anticipated movie “The Fighter” hit the theaters in US and Canada on December 10. The movie has already created waves as renowned actors like Mark Wahlberg and Christian Bale performed their best and lived up to the expectations of the audience. American actress cum singer Amy Adams has played a significant role in the movie as she performed the role of Charlene Fleming, the love interest of Mark Wahlberg.

Christian Bale plays the role of Dicky Eklund, who is boxer Micky Ward’s (Mark Wahlberg) half-brother. David O. Russell directed the movie and it is inspired by a true story. Amy Adams and Christian Bale received appreciation for their performances and critics are all in praises for the “Empire of the Sun” actor. A reputed media source reported that Christian Bale’s performance was boastful, exuberant, charming and loyal. Another newspaper reported that the actor’s performance was “phenomenal”.

Stunning actress Amy Adams graced the red carpet on December 10 and speaking about her role in the movie “The Fighter”, the actress said that she is content with the way her character is portrayed in the movie. Speaking about one of the scenes, where Mark Wahlberg would slap a man who spoke rudely to her, the actress said that the man who speaks up for a woman and defends her earns respect. About his co-actor Mark Wahlberg, Amy Adams said that he has helped her to perform better in her role. Amy Adams said that she had to take boxing lessons to get into the skin of her character. Amy Adams said that when David O. Russell cast her for her role in “The Fighter”, he told her that the actress does not look like a girl who can even punch a person. However, Amy Adams said that she proved her director wrong by stepping into boxing ring.
