Ammaji turns stuntwoman

April 13, 2010 (Sampurn Wire):Though she doesn’t wear pants, Ammajis walk and talks like a man. And, she rides horses too – a rare for a saas in Indian TV. That’s Meghna Malik’s envious character in Na aana is des Laado.
In a recent shoot where Ammaji is supposed to participate in a horse race where she proves her superiority over men, Meghna decided to take a shot at the stunt herself. Having been a trained rider since she was in school, Meghna decided to act out Ammaji’s role for real and decided to do the stunts herself.
After some preliminary training before the shoot began, Meghna ‘Ammaji’ Malik got into her riding boots to deliver a clean shot.
Speaking about her experience, Meghna said, “I love riding. I used to ride as a child, so I know how to handle a horse. So, when this particular scene was being discussed, I knew there was no way I was going to opt for a body double. I guess I am like Ammaji in more ways than I can imagine, at least I possess her self confidence and her belief that she is at par at men, and even better than them at some things…and just like her, I can’t buck down!”
Way to go Ammaji. We hope other matriarchs of small screen take cue from you.
