America’s Got Talent: Vegas Week Begins!
July 6th, 2011 - 11:33 pm ICT by Angela Kaye MasonJuly 6 (THAINDIAN NEWS) After struggling through a mix of great, mediocre, and painfully horrific acts, it was finally time for some better talent last night on Episode 11 of this seasons’s ‘America’s Got Talent’. That’s right, it is finally Vegas week. Some of the acts will be seen on Day 1, others on Day 2, and still others will go directly home.
Squawk Opera, Captain Stamp, Fearless Flores Family, Rhinestone Ropers, Professor Splash Silhouettes, Team iLuminate, Lys Agnes, Miami All Stars, and Melissa Villasenor were all sent straight on through to Vegas by unanimous vote of the judges. Although this is terrific news for these acts, it does mean that they will have less time on television.
The first category of acts which would perform was the dangerous ones. Charles Peachock caught his legs on fire as he juggled flames. It seemed to be a part of his act, however. Kevin Shelley was able to stand on knives, but did not manage to break the concrete over his back. The Yellow Design Stunt Team is a group who performs bicycle stunts, and Frank Miles falls on coolers which may have a knife sticking up in them. After scaring the judges with a fake bloody knife, things were silent for a few seconds. He wonders to the camera if it was a bit much.
The singing groups were made up of 4Play, River Deep, and Mona Lisa. Although they were all pretty good, none of them were really great. 4Play was sent on home. Next came a group of acrobatic acts. There were trapeze artists, tumblers, two pole dancers, and some who jumped rope. The two pole dancers, a guy and a girl seemed to strike up a friendship, but she was sent home.
Magicians, animal acts, and bands and solo singers made up the rest of the acts. A soloist named Dani was asked by the judges to learn another song after performing an original tune. She did, and was sent on to Vegas. And now the real fun begins, with the worst of the acts being weeded out, this season is underway.
