America’s Got Talent Top 4: Poppycock, Evancho, Grimm, & Fighting Gravity!
September 9th, 2010 - 12:31 pm ICT by Angela Kaye Mason ( 1 comment )Sep 9 (THAINDIAN NEWS) The top ten contenders for ‘America’s Got Talent’ were each called by name last night to find out which of them would remain, becoming the top four, who would move on to the finals. Six acts would be going home before the night was done, and they were all wearing nervous smiles as Nick Cannon introduced them.
As the night began, two acts were called onto the stage, waiting to find out which one had been voted through to the finals by America, and which one was going home. Michale Grasso, whom the judges called the “World’s Top Magician” the previous night when he made himself disappear, was the first one called out, and second came “Prince Poppycock”, who performed a very patriotic song mix the night before, which included “The Star Spangled Banner” and “Yankee Doodle Dandy”.
Prince Poppycock’s act was, once again, quite an entertaining performance, with a dancing White House, dancing flag, and himself all dolled up in an Uncle Sam costume. His flamboyant entertainment once again had the audience at it’s feet, which is why it came as no surprise when he was announced as the first of the last four finalist. Unfortunately, this meant that the brilliant Micheal Grasso was going home.
The second duo to be called out was Taylor Matthews and Michael Grimm. Taylor gave an awesome performance the night before, dressed in white, and accompanying himself on an acoustic guitar, he sang his rendition of ‘What a Wonderful World’, but it was Michael Grimm, who belted out ‘Let’s Stay Together’, this time without his guitar, who won America’s vote, and Taylor was sent home.
Jeremy van Schoonhoven, the stunt biker who gave a stomach turning bicycle stunt show on the previous night, was called up along with Christina and Ali to see who would be the next chosen by America to be in the top four. And neither of these two acts were chosen to stay.
Anna and Patryk, and Jackie Evancho were the next two acts to step out onto the stage to find out their fate. Anna and Patryk came out onto the stage the night before, and danced a boogie woogie to a masquerade dance. These two kids are fabulous, but with the angelic voice of Jackie Evancho, not many seemed surprised when she won this one.
The last two acts waiting to see who would be in the top four finalists on this season’s ‘America’s Got Talent’ was Studio One Young Beast Society, and Fighting Gravity. Studio One’s robotic theme and never-seen-before dance moves amazed the judges the previous night, but Defying Gravity were out of this world with their outer space theme which landed them on the moon. And the last act which would be going into the finals, and moving one step closer to a million dollars and a Las Vegas show is Fighting Gravity!

Nothing against Grimm but he will have long been a has-been (successful or not) while she is still singing before Kings, Queens, the titans of industry who support the arts along with the rest of us who marvel at a one in a million (maybe billion) voices that began as a ten year old girl.
