America’s Got Talent: Season 6 Episode 2
June 9th, 2011 - 7:38 pm ICT by Angela Kaye MasonJune 8 (THAINDIAN NEWS) Season 6 of ‘America’s Got Talent Began in Los Angeles, California and Atlanta, Georgia with the Vegas Birds, Landon Swank, Miami All Stars, and Team iLuminate. Last night the show came from the rainy city of Seattle, Washington where Howie Mandel, Sharon Osboune, and Piers Morgan stand at the ready, hadns hovering over their buzzers to judge the contestants. Meanwhile, Nick Cannon, new father and husband of Mariah Carey is on fire as the show’s host.
Melissa Villasenor starts the show off by mimicking the singing styles of several celebrities, including Miley Cyrus. She also does an impression of Kathy Griffin. Sharon Osbourne tells Melissa that it is likely she will not be working in retail for too much longer, and is very impressed that even Piers laughed at her act.
Next up was the A+C Twins, who could not sing nearly as good as they had hoped. As usual, Piers poked fun at the act, and Howie joined in. A scantily clan sixty nine year old Anita McCoy took the stage next with batons and hoola hoops. Although Howie gives her a yes vote, Sharon and Piers thankfully disagree.
After that near catastrophie comes a group from Kenya…for a show called “America’s Got Talent.” But what’s in a name after all? The acrobatic troupe known as “Zuma Zuma” proved they could hold their own. The next group, a musical group of kids ages twelve to sixteen came next, calling themselves “Poplyfe.” Piers advised the lead singer, a girl, to ditch the rest of the group and go forward on her own. She refused to leave her team, however.
The final two acts seemed to really get on the nerves of Piers. Self acclaimed “international superstar” Mauricio Herrera sang “Living La Vita Loca’ which drove Piers “loco” but alas, Sharon and Howie sent him on to Vegas. Carlton Baltimore, however, was not quite so lucky. The performer had been playing the paper horn for fifty years, which did not impress Piers in the least. In fact, the British judge found it such a complete waste of time that he left the stage. Sharon finally voted a no.
