America’s Got Talent; Ozzy Wins a Bet, Michael Grimm Wins!
September 16th, 2010 - 1:38 pm ICT by Angela Kaye MasonSep 16 (THAINDIAN NEWS) As last night’s ‘America’s Got Talent’ show began, there were four acts left and all of them were terrific. It will be a hard choice for America to choose a winner from these four.
Each of the contestants got the chance to perform with their favorite star for the last show of the season, and Prince Poppycock chose to sing ‘Last Dance’ with Donna Summer, much to the delight of the audience.
Prince Poppycock performed an opera act last night which had Piers saying that he felt Poppycock had blown it. Piers went on to explain that with a brilliant opera singer such as Jackie Evancho in the competition, that Poppycock, who is loved for being funny, perhaps his music choice was not a good idea.
And speaking of Jackie Evancho, on the same night, she had performed ‘Ave Maria’ with the voice of an angel, once again wowing the audience, and leaving them all standing in applause.
But last night, as the contestants performed with their favorite stars, Michael Grimm belted out ‘Bobby McGee’ alongside none other than Jewel, who sounded quite country. It was very obvious that Michael was having the time of his life. After he sang on the previous night, Sharon Osbourne informed him that her husband, Ozzy, had bet one hundred dollars that he would win. Singing beside Jewel last night, it seemed as though he just might.
Fighting Gravity came out next to perform a unique rendition of “Dancing on the Ceiling” with Lionel Richie. After the dance, Lionel Richie was made an honorary member of Fighting Gravity and presented with a t-shirt featuring the group.
And then it was time for little Jackie Evancho to sing with her favorite star, Sarah Brightman. It was the most amazing act ever, sending chills down the spines of listeners. Several acts performed as the contestant waited to see who would win. Those acts included David Copperfield, Usher, and Circe de Sole.
The top four, Fighty Gravity, Michael Grimm, Prince Poppycock and Jackie Evancho all stood in silence to see who would be the first to go home. And the audience seemed very shocked when Prince Poppycock was called out first. Fighting Gravity was the second act to be called out, which meant that the choice which America had made was between Michale Grimm and Jackie Evancho. Who would walk away with a million dollar prize and a job to headline in a Las Vegas show?
Michale Grimm! And he showed so much character at the moment he was announced as the winner! At that moment, his moment, he did not jump, shout, or cry, he turned to little Jackie and asked if she was okay. He told her how amazing she was and hugged her tight, he took the time to make sure a little girl was not heartbroken before he enjoyed his victory. This boy from Mississippi, who wanted to win so that he could pay his grandparents back for taking care of him, is truly a winner!
