Americans don’t know how to make tea, says Dame Helen Mirren

The 65-year-old actress, who is married to American film director Taylor Hackford, is shocked at their total ignorance of the art.
“Americans don’t know how to make tea,” the Telegraph quoted her as saying.
“You have to teach them all the time. They always put the teabag on the side of a cup of lukewarm water,” she added.
Tea-making has always been an important issue for Helen Mirren. During the shooting of the gangster film ‘The Long Good Friday’, she protested about a scene in which her character laid out the clothes for her husband.
“I’ve never even made a cup of tea for a man in my life,” she declared.(ANI)
