“American Pie” Star Chris Klein Arrested For Driving Under Influence

Los Angeles, June 17, (THAINDIAN NEWS) Early on Wednesday, actor Chris Klein was arrested by the California Highway Patrol police after the actor reportedly failed a sobriety test.
The “American Pie” star was arrested reportedly at 3:15 a.m. A statement issued by the California Highway Patrol mentioned that the actor was pulled over while he was driving through Southern California’s Sherman Oaks on U.S. 101. Patrick Kimball the California Highway Patrol officer mentioned that the star was booked under suspicion of drunk driving and later released after his recognizance.
Some sources report that the police got suspicious of the condition of Chris Klein when the actor was seen weaving through the highway lanes. He was then stopped by the Highway Patrol officials who asked him to take the sobriety test.
A California Highway Patrol official has told to a media source that the actor’s blood alcohol level was twice more than the California’s legal limit of .08. The police have also confirmed that Chris Klein was not alone in the car and that his pet dog was accompanying him. The dog was later collected from the scene by one of Chris Klein’s friend.
Chris Klein was taken to the Van Nuys Jail reportedly from where he was released in afternoon. The release however did not come easily as his bail was reportedly set at $25,000. The Wednesday incident is not the actor’s first brush with the law in such a case as back in 2005 Chris Klein was arrested in north San Diego County for misdemeanor drunken driving and was fined $1,800.
He was also ordered to perform community service for 150 hours.
