cannesParis, Apr 16, (THAINDIAN NEWS) Cannes 2010 lineup was announced last Thursday which witnessed quite a handful of American dramas gracing the list. What’s inspiring is that this time the list is markedly different from last year list that was heavily loaded with films that cast big Hollywood stars.

To start off we have “Fair Game,” a heart pounding thriller concentrated round the plot of thriller Joe Wilson-Valerie Plame story. The movie is directed by Doug Liman and has Sean Penn along with Naomi Watts in the lead roles. Oliver Stone’s sequel movie “Wall Street 2″ is the next movie in the lineup which has major stars like Shia LaBeouf, Carey Mulligan and Josh Brolin along with Michel Douglas. Russell Crowe and Cate Blanchet starer “Robin Hood” is one of the biggest budgeted movies that brings back the winning combination of Ridley Scott and Russell Crowe. One of the most impressive stories of the year is definitely “Miral” by Julian Schnabel which portrays the undying conflict between Israel and Palestine.

Terrence Malick’s “Tree of Life” was however left out in the Cannes list 2010 which happens to be a shock as well as a surprise to one and all at the Cannes. The Cannes 2010 lineup was announced by Fremaux, following which many a news agencies had turned out to be reluctant to broadcast the announcing in the wake of the red carpet video policy at the Cannes 2010. They were of the opinion that the new policy of Cannes is in accordance with the Canal+ and pay-TV service Orange, which happens to be a French broadcaster.
