May 20 (THAINDIAN NEWS) Over 47 million votes came in on Tuesday night to determine the contestants who will be in next week’s season finale. We were down to three, and the moment had come to find out who the last two would be. What an exciting time! The following was typed by me live as I watched last night’s results show.

The show featured footage from the homecoming of all three contestants. First of all, Casey went home to Milsap High School in Texas, and the crowds went wild when he announced that he has no love interest in his life. Six years ago, Casey was in an accident, and he wanted to go back the hospital and thank the doctors and nurses who saved his life. It was a very touching moment. Debra James, Casey’s mom was in tears as he gave a signed guitar to the staff and hugged them all with tears in his own eyes.

Travis Garland and his crew came out on stage to perform his new single. His voice was okay and he had pretty good dancers and a band to back him up. Then Crystal’s homecoming was shown, as she showed up in Toledo, Ohio. Crystal was hilarious as she popped her head up and down through the limo’s sunroof while surrounded by the crowd. She was given the key to the city, and then went to her dad’s for a barbecue. She was thrilled to see her son and father, and then it was on to perform for the crowd. Her dad has tears of pride in his eyes as she sang. She finally got the chance to let America hear the anthem she wrote for her city, “Holy Toledo”.

And finally it was time to view Lee’s trip home to Chicago, Illinois. He greeted the crowds, and then it was off to a Cubs game to throw out the first pitch. Lee visited his elementary school, and was introduced by his first grade teacher. He seemed overwhelmed by the huge crowd of people who came to see him, and thanked them all with tears in his eyes. And then it was on to see his family. The crowd which showed up for his performance was incredible, and he could hardly sing for the tears. The audience did not seem to mind. Even Simon seemed touched.

Justin Bieber performed after wards, and I have to say this little boy has improved incredibly! I saw him perform on “The Today Show” before he was famous, and although he was okay then, he has grown quite a lot. And then he played a drum performance that was absolutely amazing.

And now it’s time to find out who are the top tow who will be in the finale of this season’s “American Idol”! After the nationwide vote, the first person in the finale is…Lee! Joining Lee for a shot at the title is Crystal…who kept saying “I’m SAFE? I’M SAFE?”. And Casey thanked everyone for getting him this far, before dining his final song, “Daughters” which was beautiful. So Lee or Crystal will be the next American Idol! We will find out next week which one!
