Feb 2 (THAINDIAN NEWS) Cory and his sister, Brooks, lived within fifteen minutes of each other, but never got to meet until they were in their teens, due to “parental differences.” He says that his sister is now his best friend, and that no one has ever supported him like she does. She brought him to his audition. Jennifer, Randy, and Steven had her brought in to judge with them. Cory sang, “I Can’t Make You Love Me.” The judges, including his sister, loved it, and they all gave him a “Heck yeah!”

Seventeen year old Hollie came next with “At Last,” but as Steven pointed out, she was all over the place with the notes. Randy felt that she was not quite ready, but as she broke down in tears, Jennifer asked her if she could compose herself enough to try another song. She tried “It’s The Climb,” and Randy said it was so much better. Jennifer gave her a yes, as did Steven, and shockingly, Randy reversed his decision, and gave her a yes as well.

Courtney was quite infatuated with Ryan Seacrest, and burst into tears when she met him. Courtney swears she will marry Ryan one day. She made the judges laugh with her chicken impression, but when this seventeen year old belted out “Why Don’t You Stay” it was quite good. The judge felt she needed a little work, but Jennifer and Steven gave her a yes. Several more of the Austin contestants were sent through to Hollywood.

Another couple came next, and Jacqueline belted out “Mercy”. Nick sang second with, “Sunday Morning”. They were both put through to Hollywood. Janelle had an awesome voice, and wowed the judges with her country sound. She was given three yes votes and right on through she went. Randy soon went back to playing the part of Simon, however, and many contestants were rudely denied.

Nineteen year old Casey was the last contestant. He sang “I Don’t Need no Doctor”..and wow! He received a unanimous YES! “That was ’sick good’,” according to Randy. And the show moves to Los Angeles tonight!
