Mar 10 (THAINDIAN NEWS) As American Idol opened last night, Ryan Seacrest announced that Casey would not be with them, for he was very sick and in the hospital. Just what sickness Casey has was not revealed. The top thirteen performers then moved right into a Michael Jackson mix, which included ‘Man in the Mirror’, ‘Starting Something’, and several more of the late King of Pop’s songs.

Jacob, Karen, and Stefano were called to the center of the stage by Ryan. Soon Ryan declares, “You are ALL safe……(and the celebration begins, until he adds..)except…except Karen.” (At which point Karen bravely says, “That’s okay, though, that’s okay.”) So Karen sits alone as the others make it to the “safe” couch. Adam Lambert, former American Idol runner-up performed ‘In the Aftermath’ as the audience cheered.

Ashton and Haley both moved into the bottom three, while Lauren was safe once again. Lauren was very lucky, and she knew it, as she cried and apologized that her performance last night was not good. Skyler Grey performed with P Diddy, and then Ashton was told that she would have to perform for the judges and try to remain in the game.

Ashton sang ‘When You Telll Me That You Love Me’, and it was shaky and pitchy once again. After the judges deliberated, Jennifer told her, “Not this time, baby, I’m sorry.” The judges unanimously voted for her to go home, and they did not use their save for her., which means there is still a judges’ save to be used this season.

So Ashton Jones is going home, Karen Rodriguez, and Haley Reinhart were in the bottom three, and Jacob Luck, Stefano Langone, Lauren Alaina, Casey Abrams, Paul McDonald, Pia Toscano, James Durbin, Thia Megia, Scotty McCreery, Naima Adedapo, Karen Rodriguez, and Haley Reinhart were all safe and will be back next week.
