Mar 11 (THAINDIAN NEWS) Who did American vote in for the top 12 this week? Well you could be in for a surprise or two. Last night we found out who made it into the top 12, but sadly four had to go home. Who stayed and who went? Well, let’s find out. America has voted and the results are in. This is American Idol.

The show started off with the top 16 singing Michael Buble’s “Haven’t met You Yet.” The first theme of the big stage will be the music of the “Rolling Stones.” From the top twelve on you will also be able to download music and video from Itunes.

Didi was the first person who was brought out the the stage. While she was waiting , Randy made a point of how much consistency was important. Didi made it into the top 12! Siobhan was called up next, and told Ryan that she had been having a blast. Ellen said as far as growth, she would love to see Siobhan do exactly what she is doing…keep being unique. Siobhan made it into the top twelve as well. Kaitlyn and Paige were the last girls called up. Simon said that he felt Paige didn’t have it together since being on the live shows, but that she had the most potential. And he was right, Paige made it. Kaitlyn is going home. So the first 3 of the top 6 girls were Didi, Siobhan, and Paige.

Tim, Todrick, Lee and Casey were the first four guys called up. Tim was called first, but then Ryan told him to hang tight….didn’t look too good. But then he went on to each of the guys, and reminded us of their strong points. Casey was safe after the nationwide vote. Tim was also safe!! He has really grown since the show began. You may remember he was originally sent home, but came back when a winner was disqualified. While I am not sure he has what it takes to win, he will definitely be much better than he was when he arrived! Lee was safe, which meant Todrick went home. He said it had been an awesome experience and he was happy. So the first three boys to make it into the top 12 were Tim, Lee, and Casey.

After a commercial break, there were two baby grand pianos on stage. Scott Hamilton and Matt Gerard were seated at them, and Ryan announced they were there to perform Billy Joel’s “Tell Her About It.” They did an awesome job of course, and both men seemed to be doing great in their careers. Gerard has made a Top 40 recording on Itunes, which hit number one recently. Scott has a new album coming out soon.

Crystal Bowersox was called up next, and she was safe. She has really done terrifically in the last couple of weeks. Michael Lynch was called next, and “Big Mike” was safe as well!! Mike’s wife was there in the audience, you may remember he missed the birth of their first baby to audition in Hollywood week. Lacey was next and she was safe as well. Aaron Kelley came and he made it as well! Alex and Andrew were the last two guys and the last spot for the guys went to Andrew Garcia. Alex was going home. As he sang his final song, there were lots of tears, and it seemed a great deal of those tears came from Siobhan. This left us with two final girls. Katie and Lili were left standing on stage, with several people in tears, as they waited for Ryan to tell us who the last person going home would be. And the final seat in the top 12 belonged to Katie! Lili Scott is going home.

So the top 12 for this week’s America Idol is Katie, Andrew, Mike, Crystal, Lee, Tim, Casey, Lacey, Aaron, Didi, Siobhan and Paige.
