Mar 2 (THAINDIAN NEWS) After the stressful auditions to get into the top 24, ‘American Idol’ contestants are finally finished dealing with the judges, Steven Tyler, Jennifer Lopez, and Randy Jackson, and it is time for America to begin to pick the winners. The top twelve boys took to the stage last night on the show, and when it is all said and done, six of those boys will stay and six will go.

When Clint Gamboa sang “Superstitious,” the judges loved it. Randy said that there is absolutely no Karaoke singer in the whole world which has his kind of talent. Steven added that he had started strong and ended strong, and that the performance was brilliant. Jennifer noticed that his being nervous did not affect how well he performed.

Jovany Barreto performed ‘I’ll Be’ for his first audience-judged song. But the judges were split on their decision. Randy was not fond of it, and felt he did “just okay.” Steven, however, felt that it was nice. “You did it,” he said. Jennifer also liked it and told Jovany, “I am happy. People really got to see you for the first time and you did it.”

For Jordan Dorsey, the judges were in one accord, but sadly, it was not good news for him. He sang ‘OMG’ and Jennifer asked him if that was who he really wanted to be as a performer. Randy told him that it was not that good, and was too pitchy. Steven also said that it was not his favorite performance by Jordon.

Tim Halperin sang ‘Streetcorner Symphony’ and the judges were not so thrilled about it either. Randy told him that it was not his best try, and he had done much better before. Steven felt that the song did not do Tim justice, and Jennifer was disappointed that Tim did not show himself to America as an artist. “I want them to see that,” she added.

Brett Loewenstern made the judges smile with his version of ‘Light My Fire’. Randy felt that although there were a few issues with pitch, it was fun and bold. Steven told him that he was on fire, and Jennifer thinks he should be in a video tomorrow. She liked the performance as well as his individuality.

James Durbin wowed the judges with his rendition of ‘You’ve Got Another Thing Comin’. Randy expressed, “Now this is how you do it! That was great!” Jennifer loved it, and called it “organic,” “real,” and “insane.” Steven called it “crazy good” and said that he was “over the top.”

Robbie Rosen began his auditioning for the American audience with ‘The Arms of an Angel’, and the judges were a bit split on this decision as well. Jennifer felt it was a great accomplishment, and that Robbie is a great singer. Steven thought it was “beautiful,” but Randy thought it was uncomfortable and pitchy.

As sixteen year old Scotty McCreery took the stage, he sang the song ‘From Home.’ The judges all agreed, it was great. Steven told them that he could not have picked a better song, and that it was beautiful. Randy said he is a throw back country guy, and Randy is a fan. And Jennifer shared with him that she feels he was born to sing country.

Stefano Langone was terrific as he sang ‘Just the Way You Are’. Jennifer was awed. “Wow, is all I can say.” Steven felt that his voice cut through the room, and Randy agreed that it felt like they were at a concert, “You could be on the radio right now.”

Paul McDonald also impressed the judges with his version of Rod Stewart’s ‘Maggie May’. Randy felt that he was very unique, “I am a fan.” Steven loved the character in Paul, and Jennifer also said he was unique, and said that his smile “lights up the place.”

Jacob Lusk made the judges feel “honored” as he sang ‘House is Not a Home’. Steven told him, “I am honored to be in your presence.” Randy stated, “Luther would be so proud of you…We are lucky to have you on here.” Jennifer shared, “Luther is gone but now we have you. That makes me happy.”

And Casey Abrams hoped to use a little magic to persuade America to pick him with ‘I Put a Spell on You’. Jennifer told him that he is sexy, and that he had the hunger and the fire. Steven said he was “as good as it gets,” and Randy said that Casey transformed himself into the song.

That was the twelve top boys on American Idol. Tonight, the top twelve girls will sin, and tomorrow night we will find out who will stay, and who will go home. You can now vote online, and even sign in with your Facebook So tune in, and cast your vote for this season’s American Idol!
