Mar 24 (THAINDIAN NEWS) So far, we have lost two of the top contestants for this season’s ‘American Idol’, which leaves us with eleven top performers who were due to perform for America. Last night’s show featured the sounds of Motown, with each performer choosing a song from that era. We get a wave from Steven Tyler’s daughter, Liv, who is in the audience, and the show is on.

Casey started off the night with ‘I Heard Through the Grapevine’, and he blew the song out of the water! Steven told Casey that he is the perfect entertainer, had perfect pitch and Steven loved it. Randy told him that he is a true original and he takes chances. “You can only do you and that is great.” Jennifer told him that he is so specific to who he is that people already know what he is going to do, which is great.

Sixteen year old Thia did a terrific job on ‘Heat Wave’. Randy told her that the new thing is a good thing, adding that she had really taken a chance and it was great. “Take chances,” he told her. Steven said that she had taken a step out and he loved it, and Jennifer thought it was great to see her let loose.

Jacob blasted ‘All I Need’. Randy said that it was his best performance of all time. Steven loved the way he had held back and milked the song, and Jennifer said Jacob made them all beg for the next note, and moved them all. Ryan Seacrest invited the whole first row of the audience to come up and give Jacob a hug, as the audience laughed, they did so.

Lauren Alaina came out to sing ‘You Keep Me Hanging On’ and showed us all exactly why she is here. She rocked the stage and looked amazing, this fifteen year old Georgia girl. Randy said this girl is ready! Steven spoke of how she grew more everytime he heard her, and Jennifer loved the attitude that Lauren showed, with her throwing her head and neck into it.

Stefano came forward with ‘Hello’, and did a wonderful rendition. Jennifer though he did amazing, but reminded him to open his eyes to give him a connection with the audience. She added that he could sing, and looked fine, he just needs a connection. Randy agreed that he has an amazing voice but does, indeed need the connection. Steven agreed as well. Ryan Seacrest takes us into the audience to say hello to Gordon Ramsey of ‘Hell’s Kitchen’.

Haley stepped up to sing ‘You Got a Hold on Me’. She did a terrific job, but sounded very young. She really showed off her pipes. Randy was very happy that she showed off like she did. Steven thought it was beautiful, and said that is what he was looking for since he first saw her. Jennifer thought she may have the most soulful and controlled voice of the competition.

Scotty decided to go with ‘For Once in My Life’, which he tried to give it a country vibe, and make it more “Scotty.” It actually worked out very well. Steven said it was beautiful. He took a big chance and “really ripped it.” Jennifer said that it was a great version of the song, and he made it his own. Randy said he is the young ladykiller with his low notes, and called him the “country Barry White.”

Pia performed ‘All is Fair’, and it was beautiful. Randy said that it was beautiful the way she hit the high note, but advised her not to try to live on just ballads. Steven called her the closest star in the Idol universe, and Jennifer said she killed us with her killer ballad.

Paul came out to sing ‘The Tracks of My Tears” and it was terrific! Randy felt that he was doing his own thing this time, and loved that he played the guitar. Steven said it was very different , and was just great. Jennifer said he is the most seasoned performer that they have. “All you need is a good producer and there you go,” she added.

Naima did an awesome performance of ‘Dancing in the Streets’ which all of the judges loved. Randy said she finally showed up, and said it was brilliant. Steven said she came with the drums and the dance. Jennifer said it was exciting and ave her goosebumps.

The show ended with James’ amazing rendition of ‘Living for the City’. Randy said it started rough but then became unbelievable. Steven said it takes crazy to make a difference, and James is crazy. Jennifer said he was incredible to watch.

This will be a hard one to pick three bottom performer’s out of. They were all great. Be sure to tune in tonight and see who will go home this week on ‘American Idol’.
