“American Idol” Online Audition Begins This Season

americaSep 17, (THAINDIAN NEWS) There have been numerous speculations and rumors regarding the 10th season of “American Idol”. After it was reported that Jennifer Lopez will join the judges’ panel along with Randy Jackson, the music lovers have one more reason to rejoice. The “American Idol” organizers announced Wednesday that for the first time the contestants can submit their online audition videos to a reputed social networking site, Myspace.

The news has definitely brought in a wave of happiness to the music lovers and to those, who have missed their auditions at the selected venues. The network has released news where it is maintained that the candidates require having outstanding singing ability and they should perform one of the songs from the approved list of the organizers. The candidates should keep in mind at the same time they should sing the song without any instrumental accompaniment. The organizers have limited the videos to 40 seconds in length and are “limited” to one submission per person.

One of the best features of the online audition will be that the auditions will be judged in a similar fashion to the live audition. The selected candidates will be called for the next round in Los Angeles. The list of songs include Bill Withers’ “Ain’t No Sunshine,” Keith Urban’s “Kiss a Girl” and Barry Manilow’s “Copacabana,” to name a few. MySpace Music President Courtney Holt said that “American Idol” has established itself as the largest stage to “elevate” new artist and by merging this years audition with Myspace, it has made a platform renewed for discovering new talent. The lower age limit for the audition is 15 and the upper age limit is 28.
