American idol May 5May 6th, 2009 - 8:16 pm ICT by GD
The theme for the May 5 episode of American idol was Rock ‘n’ roll. With Adam Lambert landing in the bottom two last week, everything seems uncertain: there are no more sure things. Nothing can be really taken for granted. Adam however is still regarded as the favorite for the title, whose final episode will be in two weeks. The episode opens with Ryan Seacrest announcing that the singers could not prepare because of the collapse of one of the towers on stage. This is followed by the announcement that the contestants will be paired for singing duets. It doesn’t really seem such a great idea. With the duets put on hold for some time, Adam opens the show. He sings Whole Lot of Love. It is a brilliant performance as always. The judges are just too pleased.
Allison Iraheta does a Janis Joplin. She chose to sing Cry Baby and Simon is not too pleased. Neither are Randy and Kara.
Danny and Kris have their first try at a duet, Renegade, and they perform moderately. Anyways this performance is not going to be judged. The next performance is that of Kris. He has to bounce back and chooses Come Together. IT certainly wasn’t a good performance, some would perhaps say that it was one of his worst. Judges show mixed reactions. Well if Kris still survives, one must say something for his charming personal appeal.
Danny tries Dream On, a classic, and is not really able to pull it off. The judges don’t seem pleased either. Adam and Allison the ideal finalists for many audiences and fans, brought the show to an end with Take It Easy. They certainly do much better than the earlier duo.
