American Idol: Los Angeles Auditions

Feb 4 (THAINDIAN NEWS) Victoria began the auditions in the City of Angels. She believes that God brought the American Idol auditions to Los Angeles for her to win. She sang “Now Behold the Lamb,” but it did not sound good at all. They gave her a no vote which involved a good bit of ribbing from Randy and Steven.

Tim has a small crush on “J Lo” and is anxious to see what she thinks of his voice. He sang “She Will Be Loved.” Randy said that he felt Tim was singing to only Jennifer. He confessed that he had a crush on her growing up, which led her to ask how old he is..he is 23. He is going to Hollywood.

The Myspace auditions brought several people to the LA try outs. Karen wants to be the first Latina American Idol, and with her Golden Ticket, she may just have a chance. Tanisha insists that she IS the next American Idol. The New Jersey native says she has had the pleasure of meeting other artistes (sic) and she feels that she does not need a mic, cause her voice is strong enough. She also has “like three albums that are ready to be composed.” The judges tried to make her stop singing, but Randy ended up trying to run. She chased him, still singing. They finally called security to make her leave, all of them laughing the whole time.

Matt says he is a force to be reckoned with. He presented a formal introduction to himself, which featured a rap song that ended with “Your Love Don’t Cost a Thing.” He is a freelance music producer…who cannot sing…period. They voted a unanimous no. he promised to come back next year, much to Randy’s horror. “Wow, talked about delusional people,” Randy stated.

William was no better. The judges were fed up and disappointed with LA talent. “I don’t think you are ready for American Idol 2011, 12, 13, or 14,” Steven told him. Several more terrible acts were denied, and then came one man who did his own version of “Pants on the Ground,” which featured his pants falling off. The next singer was awful as well, and then she wanted to dance…which was worse.

Two brothers followed all of this craziness. Mark, and Aaron. They sang a duet of “Lean on Me” which was very good! The judges clapped along, and were very impressed. Jennifer loved it and thought it was beautiful. Randy did as well, and Steven said, “It was God-like, the way you sang.” They are both going to Hollywood.

When Cooper came in, decked out in a feathered hat, and sporting antics like James brown, Steven Tyler said, “Good Lord have mercy.” Cooper is 59 years old, and even manages a moonwalk across the stage, and a few flips and twists. Cooper soon left with no word from the judges, since he never actually auditioned. Let’s hope the San Francisco auditions are better next week.
