hansFeb 4, (THAINDIAN NEWS) With just three weeks into the show, Aerosmith frontman Steven Tyler is already hitting headlines for reasons other than his judging skills on “American Idol.” Wednesday night’s episode of the Fox musical reality series kicked off with an apology saying that the network was sorry for the ‘outrageous behavior’ showcased by the Aerosmith superstar in one of the previous segments of the show. Despite host Ryan Seacrest reiterating that the network officials decided that issuing an apology for some remarks made by Steven Tyler during one of the earlier episodes was the best thing to do, rumors are doing rounds that it was nothing but a joke or an attempt by the show executives to boast its ratings.

Soon after the on-screen statement was shown, the episode featured a contestant named John Muck facing the judges panel of ‘American Idol.’ When the contestant introduced himself to the judges, Steven Tyler said, “You know what Muck rhymes with, don’t you?” to which the participant responded, “Duck?” while the Aerosmith star added, “Read My Lips..” The remark made by the 62-year-old rockstar supposedly drew wide criticism from many viewers, owing to which the Fox network officials were not left with any other option but to issue an apology.

However, the apology at the beginning of Wednesday night’s episode left many viewers rather puzzled as over the span of the past few weeks, they had got accustomed to off-the-cuff comments that the Aerosmith superstar makes on the show. Attempts to reach the Fox executives to know the reason for issuing the apology has failed to yield any results.
