Mar 4 (THAINDIAN NEWS) Last night was the first results show for this season of American Idol. SO far the season is turning out to be unlike any other, with all of the original judges gone…except randy Jackson. Simon Cowell, Kara DioGuardi, and Paula Abdul are all gone, and we are left with Randy Jackson, Jennifer “J-Lo” Lopez, and Steven Tyler of Aerosmith.

Last night’s show revealed who will be in the top ten, and who will go home. There will be ten votes from America, five boys and five girls, with the other two slots left open for the judges to use as a wild card.

And it was soon time to dim the lights and reveal American’s choices. Scotty McCreery is sixteen years old, and was awed by the compliments from the judges whom he called “legendary.” Jennifer said she likes him doing what he does best. “You have what it takes,” she told him.

Robbie was next, and this junior in high school said that this has been his dream since elementary classes. Randy said that Robbie is a true singer/songwriter. Scotty is in the top ten! Robbie is not, so he will sit and wait to see if the judges will use him as a wild card.

Clint, Jovany and Jordon soon joined Robbie on the couch to await their fate. Scotty sits all alone as the only one who has been voted through. Now it is the girls’ turn.

Lauren and Pia came up first. Pia received the first standing ovation of the season, and Randy felt that it was top of the pack after ten seasons on the show. Jennifer told her that she had been saving that for when it really counted. All of the judges loved Lauren Alaina as well. Lauren is staying!!! And so is Pia!!! Great choices so far, America!

TaTynisa and Julie were both up next, and there were only three more spots left for the girls. TaTanysa is not one of the top five girls chosen by America and neither is Julie. They must now wait with Clint, Jovanny, Jordon, and Robbie.

Ashton was also not voted into the top ten. Kendra and Karen held hands and waited to see of they were joining her. Karen will be joining Lauren, Scotty and Pia!! Sadly, Kendra will not.

Tim, Casey, and Jacob were next. Jacob was voted through. Casey is in as well!! Lauren Turner, Thia, and Naima were up. Naima is not in, Thia is, and Lauren Turner is not. Brett and Paul are the next two to await their fate. Paul is in, Brett is not.

And Haley is the last girl voted through!!! And James is the last boy to be in the top ten!! Now who will be picked for the judges’ wild card? Jennifer shared that they are going to choose three boys and three girls to sing again. Their first choice is Ashton. “I’m gonna sing some Jennifer Hudson, cause I’m not going.” she said. And she sang , “You’re Gonna Love Me.” The judges seemed to like it okay, but were more impressed with her passion and desire to stay.

Stefano was the next to be called. He started shaky but quickly recovered to show his amazing vocals. Randy liked it, Jennifer said he had her shaking, and Steven said he brought it.

Kendra was called next, and sang “Georgia on My Mind.”She rocked it, and Randy told her so. Javanny was next, and Jennifer told him that he did the best he could. Naima was called up next. She will be the last girl, so TaTynia, Julie, Lauren T and Rachel are going home. Steven said Naima brought it.

And Randy shared that the last pick for a second chance is Robbie! So Brett, Clint, Tim, and Jordon are going home. Robbie did great with “Sorry Seems to be the Hardest Word.”

Ashton was picked by the judges to stay, as was Stefano, and Naima. So we have Karen, Lauren Alaina, Scotty, Pia, Jacob, Casey, Thia, Paul, Haley, James, Ashton, Stefano, and Naima staying, in the top ….13(?)
