American Idol Finalist Crystal Bowersox To Launch Her Debut Album

TV American Idol June 23, 2010 (Pen Men at Work): Crystal Bowersox, the runner up of the ninth season of ‘American Idol’, has signed a recording contract with the 19 Recordings/Jive Records. Crystal is also ready to launch her debut album in the fall.

Bowersox said, “I am grateful to get this opportunity of making an album and let people listen to my music. I am looking forward to work with the 19/Jive team.”

The 24 year old singer from Ohio was a favorite contestant, who had bright chances to win the crown. However, Lee DeWyze managed to win the Idol and signed with 19 Recordings Limited/RCA Records.”

Simon Fuller, the 19 Entertainment founder and creator of ‘American Idol’ said, “She is one of the most inspiring and talented singers. She is one of the most talented singer songwriters, who are gifted naturally.”

A formal announcement was made by the 19 Recordings/Jive Records as they signed on the singer. This summer, Bowersox will be recording her album while also participating in the ‘American Idol Live’ Concert tour starting from July 1 in Auburn Hills, MI.

During her struggling days as a musician, Crystal was a busker at a number of train stations, mainly when she lived in Chicago. She also performed in Chicago’s Lakeview neighborhood. Crystal also used to perform Gospel music at her church before participating in the ninth season of the ‘American Idol’.

The ‘American Idol’ judge Simon Cowell termed her performance ‘Up to the Mountain’, ‘outstanding and the best performance of the night.
