Los Angeles, May 12 (THAINDIAN NEWS) The US musical talents hunt show “American Idol” is moving to the home-stretch with only four of the contestants remaining. The final contestants are James Durbin, Haley Reinhart, Scotty McCreery and Lauren Alaina.

The finalists received inspiration from pop singer Lady Gaga who also gave them some lessons on their performances. On Wednesday, the four finalists were on stage again to perform. James chose to sing the song “Don’t Stop Believing.”

The performance received praise from all the judges. Randy told James that though the song was a difficult one, he managed to do it excellently. Tyler however believed that James choice of song was excellent. Jennifer Lopez also praised James for the performance.

Haley’s choice of song seemed to have affected her performance. She sang “The Earth Song” and all the judges pointed out the fact that singing the song on a platform like the “American Idol” was not such a good idea. Scotty however ensured that his song reflected the times.

With the killing of Osama bin Laden, Scotty performed the song “Where Were You (When the World Stopped Turning)?” The song was released shortly after the 9/11 attacks in the United States. The judges loved the performance of Scotty and the choice of the song.

Lauren was the last performer in the first round. She sang “Anyway” and the performance impressed the judges.

All the contestants gave their all during the second round of the contest. The final three will be known after the eviction show.
