Mar 4 (THAINDIAN NEWS) Last night on American Idol, four people reached the end of this phase of their dreams. While some of them my go on to pursue a singing career, and others may come back to American Idol next season, this was the end of the road for this season’s American Idol. On Tuesday, all ten remaining guys sang, and the judges gave their colorful opinions on each performance. Then on Wednesday, the girl did the same. Then comes Thursday, the day everyone looks forward to and dreads…America has voted, the results are in, and four people are going home. This is American Idol.

Tim Urban came up first and he was safe! Todrick was asked to hang out for a minute…and just stand and wait. Michael “Big Mike” Lewis was safe. Casey James was safe, and John and Todrick were the last two standing…waiting to see which one was going home. Randy, when asked by Ryan Seacrest what had caused these two to be left standing…said that he felt that the people which they had seemed to be during Hollywood week, has disappeared and had not shown themselves again. And John was going home. He said he had no regrets, and loved the experience. He went out on the song “Gravity.” Then the other guys were called up. Lee was safe. Aaron Kelley was safe. Alex Lambert was safe! Jermaine, and Andrew were left standing. Ryan asked Ellen if she was frustrated about these guys being up there to go home. Ellen said that she was sad every Thursday. Andrew was safe, and Jermaine will be going home. He said that in God there is no failure, so he leaves happy, and added, “I appreciate ya’ll I really do.” He left us with the song, “What’s Going On?” buy Marvin Gay.

Danny Gokey was back on the American Idol stage to perform his new hit single, “My Best Days Are Ahead Of Me.” You may remember Danny from last season. He lost his wife early on, 4 weeks before his audition, when she passed away due to complications from routine surgery for congenital heart disease. They had been together for 12 years. He decided to go on and finish the season, because she had wanted it so bad for him. He did very well and was the third place contestant, beaten only by Adam Lambert and, of course, Kris Allen.

Then the first set of girls were up. Lily was first, and she was safe. Paige came next, and she was also safe. Katie was safe, so Didi and Michelle were left standing. They held hands while waiting to hear their fate. Kara said this one was going to be tough. And Didi was safe, which means Michelle is going home. She sang “With Arms Wide Open” as her final song, and it was hard to see how she wasn’t going on next week. Then the second set of girls came up, and Katelyn was safe, Crystal was also safe, and Siobhan was safe as well. Hailey and Lacie were left, and arms linked, holding hands they waited as Ryan asked Simon if either of the girls deserved a second chance. He said yes but it was very obvious who would be going home. And Lacie was safe, which means Hailey Vaughn is on her way home. She left us with a very emotional version of “The Climb.” Everyone of the contestants seemed to be crying with her, and they all rushed forward to hug her when she finished. So, John, Jermaine, Michelle and Hailey are going home. Tune in next week to see who the top 12 will be.
