toadFeb 21, (THAINDIAN NEWS) Todrick Hall, an Arlington, Texas native who shot into the limelight recently as one the top 24 contestants in the present season of “American Idol”, is making news these days but not for reasons he could be proud of. The 24 year old contestant has attracted the wrath of many parents who claim that Todrick Hall owes them refunds for a failed musical that he wrote and directed.

It has been reported that the contestant of the popular musical reality series was instrumental in writing as well as directing a musical adaptation of “The Wizard of Oz”. In the musical, nonprofessional actors used to edge the lead roles whereas local children were used to play munchkins and other characters. It has come to light that parents of the children paid the production $50 performance fees because of the participation of the children in the musical. However, it is alleged that when the musical underwent extensive financial losses, the money was never refunded to the parents. This led to widespread discontent among the parents who felt cheated as they never got back the money after the show ended abruptly.

Jennifer Davis, a Lakeland, Fla. resident, who is the owner of Art in Motion Academy of Dance, complained that the production did not even bother to inform her when the show ended. She found out the truth when she came to studio for rehearsal and no one else turned up. Although many feel that the “American Idol” contestant was not solely responsible for the show’s financial failure, reports claim that he was in-charge of the finances of the project.
