chrisMilwaukee, Jan 27, (THAINDIAN NEWS) The latest episode of the audition round of the popular show ‘American Idol’, which was held in Milwaukee, Chicago, closed on a touching note, diverting from its usual gala mode interspersed with criticisms. The sad note was introduced by one of the local contestants, Chris Medina. The 26-year-old man hails from a suburb in Chicago, and recounted the heartbreaking tale of losing all dreams of marrying his fiancee when, two years back, she met with a terrible car accident that left her suffering from acute brain trauma.

The city turned out hordes of talented singers competing for the one chance to make it big, but Chris Medina’s story definitely stood out as the high point of the episode. Before going on to sing a soulful version of the song “Breakeven,” the contestant took the audience and the judges back in time as he recounted the heart-rendering tale of his girlfriend, Juliana Ramos’ car accident. The incident occurred two years back, when, after six years of being together, he had proposed for marriage, just two months before the scheduled date in December. The accident left the woman with multiple fractures on her face, and although no longer comatose, she is severely disabled, and Chris Medina is currently engaged in helping her recover.

Chris said that he still wears the ring that he had given her in a chain around his neck. He assures that he has no regret whatsoever that his marriage and life is currently in hold, saying that he had done the right thing by standing beside her when she needed his help the most. The judges were immensely moved by the tale, and the fact that Chris Medina has quite a decent amount of singing talent earned him the golden ticket.
